**Job Description**:
In this role, the incumbent will act as SAP ABAP technical expert and will be responsible for the technical design, development and maintenance of ABAP solutions. He/she will play a key role in defining optimal solutions and delivering the projects for which he/she is responsible.
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to ABAP programs, including debugging and bug fixing ;
- Diagnose performance problems and make necessary adjustments to optimize system performance ;
- Work closely with Basis to solve system problems ;
- Design, code, test and deploy custom ABAP programs to meet specific business needs. This may include creating reports, interfaces, etc. ;
- Analyze existing business processes and propose improvements using ABAP to automate tasks and improve operational efficiency ;
- Optimize existing processes to improve operational efficiency ;
- Carry out project/change/evolution impact analyses on the existing SAP solution ;
- Provide technical support to end-users and resolve technical problems related to the SAP system ;
- In collaboration with analysts, define and clarify user requirements and participate in the development of solutions ;
- Acquire a solid understanding of business areas and technology options to achieve business objectives ;
- Collaborate with other specialists in the organization to ensure that the overall solution takes into account all other aspects (Non-Functional Requirements, Security, Technology, Data, Business) ;
- Contribute to cost/benefit analyses.

**Qualifications**:

- Solid understanding of SAP development best practices ;
- Proficiency in ABAP programming, including Smart Forms scripts, Enhancements (BADI's, User Exits), Conversion (LSMW), BAPI's, IDOCs ;
- In-depth knowledge of the SAP environment, including functional modules such as FI, MM, SD, PS as well as human resources ;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills ;
- Ability to solve complex technical problems and manage multiple tasks, deliverables and projects simultaneously ;
- Minimum 10 years' experience as an ABAP developer ;
- University degree in computer science, information technology or equivalent;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingualism (French and English) ;
- Results-oriented with a proactive and methodical approach to problem solving ;
- Customer service oriented; team player ;
- Ability to understand both long-term and short-term perspectives of situations.
