Reporting to the Retail Store Manager, Urban Tactical Brantford (UTB), the Retail Sales Associate will offer a distinctive shopping experience to all customers which include: Law Enforcement, Correctional, Fire, Paramedic and other Government Agencies and departments; Construction Industry; and Retail customers. By delivering exceptional customer service, the Retail Sales Associate will achieve and exceed monthly sales goals by leveraging their extensive knowledge of the products, its features and benefits; demonstrate active listening to identify customer need, and engage in solution selling by presenting the appropriate products and services which meet the customer’s requirements.

Responsibilities of the Retail Sales Associate include: Developing and maintaining full knowledge of all products and services offered; Organizing, straightening, folding and packaging products to present an orderly, professional appearance; Maintaining appropriate levels of all inventory on the sales floor and stock areas; Cleaning and dusting of product packaging and display area; Adhering to policies, processes and procedures to ensure the appropriate products and services are offered to each customer / customer group consistent with contracts (as applicable).

**Skills Required**:

- Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication; Fluent in English
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents, including but not limited to: Safety rules; Operating and maintenance instructions; Procedure manuals
- Excellent interpersonal capabilities
- Effectively communicate with customers and company personnel at all levels, including professional etiquette (telephone, electronic, social media)
- Exceptional customer service orientation, demonstrated through:

- Active listening; Attentive to customer requests
- Present appropriate products and services to meet customer needs, including describing features and benefits
- Propose options and alternatives to successfully resolve customer issues
- Demonstrated proficiency and accuracy in mathematics; Cash register operation (including conversion / making change in American currency units)
- Demonstrated ability to meet physical demands of the role;
- Standing and /or walking for extended periods
- Reaching, stretching, crouching, kneeling, stooping
- Climbing heights (use of ladder)
- Regularly lift heavy weights to fifty (50) pounds
- Accurately detect colour; depth perception; adjust focus; close vision
- Demonstrated commitment to work as an equal contributor to a team; Take initiative independent of direct supervision;
- Demonstrated proficiency in analysis, problem-solving, and generating mutually beneficial solution
- Ability to multi-task: Being attentive to customers while remaining flexible to the needs of the business
- Strong computer skills: MS Office tools; Records / data in corporate systems; POS system; Internet (research, etc.)
- A valid PAL

**Detailed Job Description**
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Greet and make a professional connection with customers, asking questions and listening attentively to confirm customers’ needs; Present product and service options and provide consultative advice to meet customer needs
- Create a positive and lasting impression of yourself and the company
- Maintain a professional attitude, demonstrating truthfulness, sincerity and enthusiasm that reflects the company’s commitment to its customer
- Inspire customers to buy; Celebrate and reinforce the purchase decision
- Consistently achieve and exceed personal and company sales goals
- Develop and model enhanced sales skills
- Maintain appropriate product inventory and sales floor displays and presentations
- Promptly and accurately return excess product to inventory / warehouse
- Handle all customer returns (including warranty items) courteously and professionally
- Ensure fitting rooms are ready for customers; Promptly remove merchandise and return it to the proper area of the selling floor, folded or packaged in a professional manner
- Learn and maintain current knowledge of all company policies, procedures and operating practices
- Perform all sales support functions, including the accurate use of company information systems, POS terminal
- Read vendor tags, pamphlets, brochures
- Complete Vendor on-line training and product research
- Maintain detailed knowledge on current promotional sales and events
- Adhere to, and actively practice Loss Prevention and inventory control and compliance procedures
