**JOB INFORMATION**:

- The two positions report out of Greenwood Yard working Various (night) shift with Various off days (Thursday/Friday), which may vary as directed by work assignments.**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Work involves the safe and efficient operation of specialized and non-specialized non-revenue rail vehicle operation of the production tie tamper and various rail work cars
- The work entails the operation of the production tie tamper for levelling, lining and stabilizing segments of open cut mainline and yard track right-of-way within the subway and surface track system
- When the production tie tamper is unavailable, you will operate specialized and non-specialized workcars for the delivery of tools, materials and equipment to track construction sites, work and subway locations; loading and unloading cargo and pushing and/or pulling non-powered cars, etc.
- The work also involves the performance of daily service checks on the vehicles operated and performing Track Maintainer duties or assisting with a wide variety of manual track construction duties when a vehicle is not available or required to be operated or on an as required basis
- Responsible for treating passengers and/or employees with respect and dignity and ensuring the needs of passengers or employees with disabilities are accommodated and/or addressed (within the area of responsibility) in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders so that they can fully benefit from the TTC as a service-provider and an employer

**SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE**:

- You require training obtained through the completion of Grade 12 education or its recognized equivalent as determined by the Training Department
- Must be able to comprehend verbal and written instructions as demonstrated by an ability to understand and follow published operating/safety rules and regulations
- Must be able to speak clearly in order to exchange information and instructions with the Control Centres and follow proper radio and telephone protocol
- Must have an understanding of computer operations and be able to operate a computer terminal
- Must have successfully completed the Track Maintainer training program and the Workcar Operator Trainee program
- Must possess a valid non-probationary Class “G” Province of Ontario Driver’s Licence, and you must pass a vision test and an established pre-test set by the Training Department
- Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees
