Job Title:Animator

About us:
Canurta is a preclinical biotechnology company pioneering the production of effective and novel polyphenol-rich ingredients and products to support prevention and recovery across a spectrum of indications for humans and animals in the food, wellness and biopharma sectors. Canurta is the patent-holder of multiple processes which enable the production of rare, non-cannabinoid, non-psychoactive polyphenols derived from hemp, which are scientifically proven to target and inhibit inflammation and other mediators of disease at their source.

**Description**

The Animator will be responsible for creating creative and original content for the Company’s The Healing Project story to develop its first series of episodes. The Animator will work closely with the company’s marketing department.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Create original character sketches for new animations based on design briefs
- Conceptualize ideas for characters, scenes, backgrounds and other animation elements
- Develop storyboards for The Healing Project that depict the script and animations to showcase how each episode will be told
- Design backgrounds, sets and other elements of the animated environment
- Develop timing and pacing of motion based on audio requirements
- Record dialogue for the animation, where necessary
- Present designs for evaluation and feedback; make necessary edits when requested
- Collaborate with other creatives, including the marketing department and to finalize the project
- Perform other tasks assigned

**Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education or currently enrolled in post-secondary education in Animation or a related field
- Proficiency in the use of design and animation software
- Attention to detail
- Excellent creativity and originality
- Strong communication and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

CSJ is a program under the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS), which aims to provide flexible and holistic services to help youth in Canada develop the skills and gain paid work experience to successfully transition into the labour market; as such, the program has the following eligibility requirements.

**Canada Summer Jobs Requirements**:

- Must be within 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
- Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations

The expected duration of this job is 8-16 weeks, 35 hours per week.

**Salary**: $17.50 per hour

Expected start date: May 8, 2023.

Location: Mississauga, ON.

**This job is dependent on receiving funding from the Canada Summer Jobs Program.**
