Assistant Mushroom Grower

We are recruiting for an **_Assistant Mushroom Grower_**. This position assists in direction and insight to the growing staff to ensure delivery of high quality mushroom crops.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assists in managing environmental conditions
- Production forecasts: monitors quality and inventory of raw materials
- Manages cooling requirements, checks, records, temperature, air movement, R/H, and CO2 levels in growing rooms
- Assesses and responds to changing growth characteristics
- Implements improvements to the quality and efficiency of growing process
- Keeps accurate records
- Monitors filling and emptying of growing houses
- Communicates with Growers and Harvesting team throughout the harvesting process
- Follows all safety and food safety procedures

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 1 year of mushroom related work an asset
- Degree in science or agriculture, an asset
- Occupational First Aid Level 1 (or the ability to achieve certification within 3 months' of employment) an asset
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Must have reliable transportation

**Hours of Work**:
Work schedule varies depending upon needs of the department. Weekends and Holidays.

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
