The Systems and Data Analyst (Internal Title: Business Systems and Data Analyst) is responsible for providing technical and business support and analysis expertise for data-driven decision-making for Recreation, Parks, and Culture. In this position, you would be part of a team of advisors maintaining the Recreation Management System (RMS) and supporting the data management strategy. Key responsibilities for this role include maintaining business-level source data, reports, and visualizations from the Recreation Management Systems (RMS) and other data sources. This position also utilizes Business Intelligence tools and software for real-time reporting, to enable quick decision-making.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop a systems approach, in alignment with the Recreation, Parks and Culture data management strategy, to validate findings, interpret results and make practical recommendations to business operations as a result of the data analysis.
- Develop and maintain statistical reporting, through data collection, data design and data analytics on key performance indicators for department initiatives and service delivery.
- Work within data visualizations tools, using latest versions of Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft SSRS, and Microsoft Excel to support real time inquiries and reporting to various stakeholders including Council, Executive Team, and Management.
- Provide leadership and guidance with respect to best practices for data visualisation and data storytelling.
- Provide training and support to users of data visualization tools including interpreting results and practical implementation.
- Research, gather, define, and document business requirements, determine the most effective and efficient solution options and translate into systems configuration, including business process re-engineering exercises.
- Provide Recreation Management Systems (RMS) administration and technical support including oversight on system maintenance and troubleshooting by responding to service request and incidents that require systems assistance.
- Collaborate with both business and technical partners across departments to ensure that the RMS is effectively operational.
- Provide RMS system support during upgrades including reviewing new releases, development of test cases, data migration, integration, and configuration.
- Provide leadership and coordination for department wide document storage solution implementation, and maintenance.

**Skills and Abilities**
- Effective communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple and complete tasks in a high-pressure environment while ensuring exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across the organization.
- Proven skills in SQL (queries development), data analytics, and data visualisation.
- Flexibility to work in a diverse environment and embrace change.

**Qualifications**
- Degree or diploma in Data Analytics, Commerce, Recreation Management, plus 2 years of related experience in a business analysis or business intelligence or recreation services.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Power BI and SSRS.
- Knowledge of municipal government operations and recreation service management is an asset.
- Knowledge of Recreation Management Systems (like IntelliLeisure, Lightspeed Golf, etc) is an asset.
- Knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint.

**Salary**: $77,532.00-$96,933.20 per year
