**PURPOSE AND SCOPE**:
The key objective is to fully involve the Museum Assistant at Glanmore National Historic Site. This position will contribute to Glanmore's public programs, special events, outreach, and guided tours. In addition, the Museum Assistant will be integral to the operations of the site on their scheduled workdays and will take an active role in the opening and closing procedures of the museum, handling telephone inquiries, front desk/visitor reception, gift shop sales, and light housekeeping.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- The position will provide mentoring and direct training for a student interested in gaining experience in a museum or tourism setting.
- Attend an orientation, and undertake training, facilitated by the Manager of Museum Services.
- Review written and online resources and internal policies made available to them and related to their role and assigned tasks.
- Staff the museum's reception desk, as needed.
- Welcome, register, monitor and support guests while they are onsite.
- Help present experiences for museum visitors that are participatory/ immersive.
- Demonstrate best practices in excellent customer service.
- Take payments, bookings, and assist museum guests.
- Track attendance figures and make notes on engagement levels and evaluate effectiveness of museum offerings overall.
- Work with team members to achieve museum goals.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum enrollment in a post-secondary education program related to Museum, Archivism, or other related programs returning in the fall of 2025/2026.
- Prior experience in customer service/working with the public.

**RECRUITMENT PROCESS**:

**Stage 3 - Start Date**: This anticipated commencement of this position is May 13, 2025 until August 31, 2025.
