Highlights of the job
We are hiring two full-time permanent Systems Analyst positions working out of Edmonton, AB.
This position may be eligible for EPCOR’s hybrid work program.
What you’d be responsible for
- Employing open communication and analytical skills to resolve operational issues effectively for customers within expected timeframes.
- Ensuring system reliability and availability through dedicated system monitoring, maintenance and change management.
- Assisting with the completion of Transition to Operations reviews and checklists.
- Overseeing root cause analysis on issues to mitigate and prevent future risk.
- Executing daily job duties with a focus on continuous improvement of processes and systems.
- Participating in Major Capital Projects as required.
- Providing positive contributions to documentation and knowledgebase to allow for the long-term sustainability of EPCOR Information Services.
- Abiding by all Application Services departmental policies and processes.
What’s required to be successful
- Successful completion of a Computer Science or Engineering degree or a Computer Engineering/System Technology diploma is required.
- 4+ years of related experience is required.
- Intermediate knowledge of Linux and Windows Operating Systems
- Knowledge of the following would be desirable:
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Java, C#, APEX.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Oracle Middleware, Forms & Reports
- Experience in billing systems
- Experience with network troubleshooting and utilizing troubleshooting tools (e.g. wireshark, fiddler, netcat)
- Knowledge of Azure services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) is desirable
- Previous experience with System Delivery Life Cycle using one or more common programming languages.
