Horticulturist

Position Summary_
- Qualifications & Skills:_
- Graduated or currently enrolled in a recognized Horticulture program
- Experience building, planning and maintaining gardens for public spaces
- Experience with tree pruning would be an asset
- Must enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Good interpersonal skills
- Safe chainsaw operation certificate would be an asset
- Experience in Landscape Maintenance would be an asset
- Ability to lead, motivate and demonstrate positive work ethic with a team
- Responsibilities:_
Job duties would include, but are not limited to the following:

- Building, planning and maintaining golf course gardens
- Supervising crew members on proper maintenance of gardens
- Planning and executing vegetable gardens to grow produce for the kitchen
- Cross train on different tasks for the golf course including:

- Bunker maintenance and repair
- General mowing practices on greens, tees and roughs
- Overseeding, sodding
- Aeration of greens and tees
- Winter preparation
- Compensation & Benefits:_
An hourly rate in the range of $18-$25/hour will be offered, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Opportunity to join the team of a top private club and gain valuable experience.
