Overview:
Element has an opportunity for a
** Microbiologist** in a Food and Environment lab in Calgary whose primary responsibility is to support laboratory operations by conducting the relevant microbiological testing.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain accurate records with a strict adherence to the corporate Quality System
- Role includes working on week-ends and some paid overtime as required
- Shifts vary with working hours between 8 AM and 7 PM including week-ends

Skills / Qualifications:

- Minimum post secondary education in a microbiology related field
- Microbiological techniques such as: direct plating, serial dilutions, qualitative pathogen detection, PCR, ELISA, biochemical bacterial identifications, membrane filtration, MPN and much more
- Experience with Allergen quantification
- Excellent aseptic technique
- Effective time management
- Good English communication skills
