**Position Summary**

The Hakem lab at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre at University Health Network is excited to recruit a new addition to the team who is passionate about scientific research, and motivated to make an impact in the field. Our lab combines experimental work with cell lines, xenograft models, molecular biology, biochemistry, and advanced computational analysis approaches to understand cancer mechanisms and identify novel cancer vulnerabilities. Our lab has strong ongoing collaborations with research labs across Canada, Europe, Japan, and we are looking for someone who will integrate well into our team. Demonstrated expertise in our area of research is required.

**Duties**

We seek a **Research Technician III or IV** who will mainly be performing wet-lab experiments and helping our postdoctoral trainees and students. It is essential that the recruited technician has the required skills described above including experience working with mouse models. Expertise in molecular biology such as CRISPR/Cas9 and drug screening are an asset.

**Qualifications**
- At minimum, MSc or PhD degree in biology, molecular biology, or a similar field of study
- At least six (6) years of experience with standard cell and molecular biology laboratory techniques such as:

- Experience with q-PCR, RT-PCR, DNA cloning, Western blot and immunoprecipitation
- Next-generation DNA/RNA sequencing library preparation
- Tissue dissociation, and in vitro cell culture
- Live mouse handling
- Lentiviral packaging and transduction
- Large-scale Crispr-Cas9 and drug screenings
- Flow cytometry
- Confocal microscopy
- A willingness to learn new techniques and technologies.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Meticulous and detail-oriented
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a team environment
