Executes supply chain strategy. Identifies supplier quality, delivery, and service issues. Monitors supplier corrective action and coordinates supplier development. Identifies and eliminates waste from supply chain
**RESPONSIBILIITES**:
- Analyzes supplier performance to identify supplier issues, initiate corrective action, and track performance.
- Works closely with Material Planners, end-users, and supplier to reduce lead-time and inventory investment. Uses various Just In Time (JIT) techniques, including Kanban, consigned inventories, and others.
- Participates in project teams, representing Purchasing function to provide input from supply chain process
- Utilizes spreadsheet to analysis and evaluate technical and financial data.
- Continually work with Supply base to identify Cost Saving opportunities and strive to achieve Cost Saving targets assigned by Management
- Ensures successful and timely implementation of approved engineering changes by closure of all commercial issues with suppliers
- Exercises ample expertise and flexibility to procure all emergency requirements in cooperation with Requisitioning departments and other supporting segments in the organization to ensure project completion
- Communicates effectively with all requisitioning departments, and arranges for proper and accurate information exchanges between originator and suppliers
- Reviews Trade Bulletins on a regular basis to provide awareness of market trends
- Ensures purchase orders are entered in a timely manner
- Supports the Supplier Development Engineer with supplier audits of applicable suppliers as required
- Resolves material claims with suppliers
**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, or equivalent.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in Purchasing Department (Tier 1 Automotive Preferred)
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, ERP Systems)
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Good mathematical and problem solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work to meet deadlines and multiple demands
- Ability to uphold confidentiality
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment
