Head Cook

We are currently looking for an experienced, committed & passionate cook to join our team at our unique restaurant, The Pond. We are a very busy licensed restaurant with a large gift shop and plant nursery. We are looking to fill Friday and Saturday evening shifts as well as Sunday and Monday day shifts. We are not hiring international students, long term applicants only.

The successful applicant will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

- Preparing and cooking a variety of cuisine using skill & creativity
- Training and ensuring the ongoing practice of safe food handling and preparation techniques

Qualifications and Experience:

- preferably 1 year experience cooking in a restaurant or a passion and talent for cooking
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example
- Food Safe Level certification
- Work under pressure and meet deadlines with particular attention to detail.
- Interpersonal service skills, organization skills to plan time effectively, and work without direct supervision
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to provide leadership in a team environment and motivating, developing, and sharing in the successes of the team

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 25-35 per week

**Salary**: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Kamloops, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Cooking: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (required)
