**MANUAL / GENERAL MACHINIST**

As our **Manual/General Machinist**, you will work closely with the Machining Supervisor, experience challenges and rewards and have an opportunity to shape and influence our environment.

Under the guidance of our Machining Supervisor, our General Machinist is responsible for the set-up, operation and inspecting various manual machining of raw as well as finished products while ensuring targets and deadlines are met. Working closely with the general machining team you will ensure target and deadlines are met complying with OH&S legislation as well as J/E Bearing and Machine’s policies. As a result, your work has a direct impact towards fulfilling business goals.

**We are seeking a person with the following skill set and competencies**:

- Grade 12 (OSSD) or equivalent education.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a general machining environment.
- Related trades certifications, courses or diploma from a recognized post-secondary school is a significant asset:

- Certificate of Qualification for General Machinist or Tool and Die Maker
- Forklift and Crane experience considered an asset.
- Familiar with the common types of metals.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.
- Understanding of safe work procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act as it applies to J/E Bearing and Machine Ltd.
- Possess good time management skills, communication skills and problem solving skills.
- Willingness to learn new skills and accommodate requests
- Perform physical labour when required.
- Mus provide a clean criminal record check upon hire.

**Your skills and competencies will help you**:

- Utilize 3 Axis Trak Mill/Lathe, manual Lathe and Mill and other various pieces of manual machinery.
- Machine parts to tight tolerance and verify dimensions of parts using precision measuring instruments.
- Document and report deviations from specification, tolerances and complete inspection records as required.
- Responsible for welding and fabrication tasks.
- Maintain communication with Supervisor regarding workload.
- Participate in the company 5S activities.
- Attend employee meetings, production meetings and safety talks as required.
- Treat all J/E information and customer information in a confidential manner.
- Know and demonstrate safe working procedures in the shop environment.
- Responsible for the general housekeeping of working area ensuring that it is cleaned and organized at all times.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $20.00-$33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
