**Job Objectives**:

The Materials Handler is responsible assembling job materials bundles, maintaining high levels of completeness and accuracy. In doing this, and other related material and administrative tasks, the Materials Handler plays a critical part in providing a seamless flow of needed parts and supplies to the factory floor.

Reports to: Supervisor - Materials

Supervises: None

Internal Contacts: Production workers, leads and supervisors

External Contacts:
**Key Responsibility Areas**:
**Job Materials Assembly**:

- Picks and assembles materials and parts for specific Job Orders and delivers them to the assembly process.
- Issues materials to the appropriate job, labels large components and ensures they are delivered to production.
- Returns surplus materials to storage area.

**Administrative Functions**:

- Records parts issued to jobs and material returns to maintain accurate internal record-keeping for both job-costing and inventory systems.

**Equipment Operation**:

- Operates various equipment which may include forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods

**Projects / Other Assignments**:

- Assists the shipper/Receiver as assigned.
- Performs cycle counts and assists in the inventory process.
- Works on related projects or initiatives as assigned.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Grade 12

**Experience**:

- Related materials management experience in a warehouse setting.
- Inventory control.

**Competencies (skills, abilities, knowledge)**:

- Derives satisfaction from a job well done.
- Able to take initiative when needed.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in administrative functions.
- Communication skills (written and verbal).
- Able to organize and plan a complex and demanding daily workload.
- A commitment to placing safety first in all tasks.

**Working Conditions**:

- Warehouse environment.
- Industrial manufacturing shop environment which may involve loud noise and dusty conditions.
- Correct and consistent use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment is a requirement of this position. Worker will provide CSA-approved safety footwear; all other PPE is provided.
