**COVID-19 SCREENER (Part-Time ) - Regency Long Term Care**

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Ability to communicate positively with other staff, residents and families
- Demonstrates empathy, concern and interest in providing quality care and service to residents
- Demonstrates organizational skills and ability to complete assignments in a timely fashion
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible, adaptable, able to work in a busy environment and respond to sometimes unpredictable situations.
- Complete a mandatory police check with a vulnerable sector check
- Negative COVID-19 test
- Fully COVID-19 vaccinated

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Screens all incoming and departing staff, visitors and essential caregivers for symptoms of and exposure to COVID-19.
- Does not permit anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19 to enter the home and advises them to go home immediately to self-isolate and encourages them to be tested.
- Ensures that all entering facility complete hand hygiene using ABHR
- Supervises scheduled visiting appointments and ensures that all visitors comply with Ministry Directives for visitors i.e. wearing face covering and or masks, social distancing, etc.,
- Disinfects all surfaces, chairs, booklets, pen(s) etc. after every visitor and resident
- Disinfects all deliveries for residents and delivers them to the nursing station
- Monitors the parking lot and ensures that residents remain on the property.
- Respects residents’ rights, privacy and confidentiality.
- Communicates courteously with residents, families and visitors.
- Observes residents and informs staff on duty of any resident concerns.
- Utilizes effective infection control techniques i.e. proper PPE, hand washing, etc.
- Communicates effectively with teammates and subsequent shifts.
- Participates in facility fire drills and follow fire policies and procedures.
- Participates in facility education and training opportunities.
- Carries out all other duties as directed by Director of Care and or delegate
- Command of the English language
