**Position: Turf Maintenance Staff (Seasonal)**

**Reports: Golf Course Superintendent, Assistant **Superintendent, 2nd Assistant Superintendent**

**Supervises: None**

**Position Summary**

Seasonal turf maintenance staff perform routine golf course maintenance. Such tasks include: operating small hand-powered equipment, occasionally performing work involving large equipment such as tractors, loaders and large mowers.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Ability to operate hand tools such as: raking, shoveling, edging
- Ability to operate small gasoline powered tools, such as: line trimming, push mowing, using backpack blowers
- Adheres to mowing practices with regards to greens, tees, aprons, fairways, roughs
- Raking, edging, weeding bunkers, mulch beds and other designated areas
- Operates gasoline utility vehicles for transportation of staff and materials
- Lays sod, seeds, and fills divots
- Performs all cultural practices such as aerating, verticutting, and dethatching
- Hand waters greens, tees, fairways and roughs
- Performs all duties in a safe, efficient and timely manner as directed by the supervisors
- Other duties as required

- Fast-paced environment - especially during high demand/peak times/ multiple events

**Physical Effort**
- Moderate to high level of physical effort - standing for extended periods of time, bending, lifting

(minimum of 20lbs), repetitive motions/movement

**Work Hours**
- Work hours are based on business demands. Flexibility is expected.
- Shifts include day and evening hours on weekdays, weekends and holidays

**Education / Certification / Work Experience**
- Knowledge of golf etiquette
- Excellent oral and written skills
- Experience in a private club environment

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 5 months

**Salary**: From $15.50 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

- Etobicoke, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
