General Contractor (Drywall Installer/Finisher, Painter, Handyman)

Furcon is seeking a motivated, hard-working individual to join our growing team as a Construction Worker on our Reinstatement team. This is an exciting role for anyone who has knowledge and experience in construction work, with opportunities for career advancement within Furcon.

This is a full-time, permanent position paying a wage of **$26-$35/hour**. The role offers competitive payment. benefits and overtime opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities
- General contracting work in various settings, including hospitals and schools
- Drywall installation and finishing (taping)
- Framing (considered a strong asset)
- Ensuring all health and safety practices are followed
- Demolition and waste removal
- Construction of hoarding and enclosures
- Painting
- Clean-up and teardown
- Other construction duties, as required

Required QualificationsEducation
- High school diploma (preferred)

Employment Experience
- 3+ year(s) construction work experience
- Experience with drywall installation (preferred)
- Experience with taping/drywall finishing work (preferred)
- Experience with framing (optional)

Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of and experience in the construction industry
- Good work ethic, highly motivated
- Punctual and reliable
- Personable, able to work well in a team
- Able to perform physical labour such as lifting, walking, and carrying objects

Other
- Valid G-Class driver’s license
- Moderate fluency in spoken English
- Double Covid-19 vaccinations (due to hospital work)

Employment Equity

Payment

$26-$35/hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Overtime rates applied for weekend and evening work.
