**Job Title: Residential Cleaner**

**Background**:
Under One Roof is a community hub that aims to build a sense of Wellness, Community, and Purpose for
people in Squamish. It’s more than just supportive housing, it’s a community hub, food hub, volunteer hub,
wellness hub and a central access point for supports and services.

UOR provides a shared and centralized location from which to provide all our food and shelter services to
the community.

Our focus is on building capacity and creating vibrant centre for all. We want to create a safe and dignified
environment for the homeless, Squamish’s vulnerable population and those who are hard to house.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**: Resident Cleaner

The Cleaning Staff work along with the participants in the transitionary residences to ensure an acceptable
level of cleanliness and care. The Cleaning Staff reports to the Operation Manager.

**Specific Duties & Responsibilities**:

- To support the cleaning programs set-up by the Integrated Participant Care and Resource (IPCR) team

in collaboration with residents.
- To provide cleaning guidance to the residents and work alongside participants as they clean and

organize their rooms.
- To support the cleaning of resident rooms, bathrooms and kitchens.
- To support laundry, garbage removal, recycling.
- Performs routine room inspections while supporting the cleaning of the rooms, recommending repairs

and maintenance to the facility building maintenance team.

**Qualifications**:

- Cleaning Experience and comfort working within others’ homes.
- Experience working with people with barriers.
- Current certification in First Aid/CPR.

- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to take direction from others and provide guidance to others.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and maintain appropriate workplace boundaries.
- Knowledge and understanding of hoarding and safe biohazard cleaning methods.
- Involves lifting and carrying heavy boxes, crates, bending, twisting. Works in all weather conditions.
- Involves working with individuals with multiple barriers to independence.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and develop through mentorship and training.

**JOB CLASSIFICATION**: Cleaner

**Grid Level**: 10 - $21.43 Regular Part time

**Hours**: Monday thru Friday 4 hours per day 9:00 am - 1:00 pm (20 hrs)

BCGEU membership required
