**Facilities Caretaker**

We are currently seeking a dedicated and responsible Facilities Caretaker to join our team. You will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall maintenance of our veterinary clinic facilities. You will play a crucial role in creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for our staff, clients, and patients.

King Animal Hospital is a new 60,000 sq ft. Equine and Small Animal Specialty Referral & Emergency Services Hospital located on 50 acres in King City, Ontario. The hospital has 4 floors with elevator and stair access, and the standards for cleanliness and upkeep of the facility will be on-par with that of human health care.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Perform regular cleaning and sanitization of all areas within the clinic, including examination rooms, waiting areas, surgical suites, and common areas.
- Monitor and restock supplies in designated areas, such as paper towels, hand soap, disinfectants, and other cleaning materials.
- Dispose of waste and hazardous materials according to established protocols and regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify and report any maintenance or safety issues.
- Coordinate with external vendors for repair and maintenance services when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and other safety guidelines.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning and janitorial supplies and submit purchase requests as needed.
- Assist with the organization and storage of medical and office supplies.
- Support the veterinary team by performing additional tasks as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or GED is an asset.
- Minimum 3 years, but ideally 5 or more years of experience in facilities maintenance, janitorial services, or a related field
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, sanitation procedures, and handling of cleaning chemicals.
- Experience in infection control protocols.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks, such as bending, kneeling, and reaching.
- Comfortable working in a veterinary clinic environment and around animals.
- Reliable transportation to commute to the hospital is required. The hospital is not accessible by public transit.

**Salary**: From $21.50 per hour
