Cabinet Maker

**PURPOSE**:
The Cabinet Maker manufactures product according to drawings, details and instructions provided. The incumbent ensures timely manufacturing and delivery of high quality products which meet client specifications.

**REPORTS TO**:
This position reports to the Production Manager.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Manufacture product according to drawings or instructions provided
- Interpret drawings, blue prints and other specifications of articles to be constructed
- Trim joints and fit parts and sub-assemblies together to form complete units
- Ensure parts, sub-assemblies and finished products are labelled correctly
- Sand wooden surfaces
- Prepare and assemble cabinets for installation
- Install cabinets and custom finishes at job sites
- Spray finish when required
- Clean and maintain work areas, including machinery and tools, to ensure a safe working environment
- Follow work and safety procedures as prescribed
- Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude
- Communicate professionally with internal and external clients.
- Follow direction of lead hands when assigned too them.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of post-secondary training in cabinet making, carpentry or fine woodworking, considered an asset
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a high volume production environment in addition to a strong comprehension of metal and wood is required
- Experience with the fabrication of cabinets, furniture making and general woodworking considered an asset
- Experience working with wood, metal, acrylic, laminate and glass components
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to visualize a finished product from drawings, blueprints and other specifications

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
