**Le Petit Pain** is a brand new classic high end French brand that aims to bring a taste of France to Canada, with our first location in the prestigious Forest Hill Village. Our goal is to open Oct 1. Our brand is built on the foundation of the exploration of authentically French baked goods and specialty food/drinks, and we pride ourselves on crafting high-quality, handcrafted patisserie, and introducing authentic French cheeses, wine, and vintage antiques to our guests.

**LPP** is currently looking for talented and passionate individuals to join our opening team as our bakers (part-time and full-time). In this role, you are the creators of our products, which will make or break the overall guest satisfaction of our brand. Not only are you expected to be a great baker, you’d also be a fast, clean, and organized team oriented individual, by helping out the FOH team to assemble to-go food, making coffees, as well as assisting all guests with any questions they may have.

**As a Baker at LPP, you will**:

- Work as part of a small team to bake products (bread and pastry) from scratch early each morning, following carefully crafted recipes
- Participate in all LPP’s food production outside of baked goods, including but not limited to:

- Pre-made sandwich assembly
- Pre-made salad assembly
- Preparing mise en place
- Be responsible for reading production schedules and recipes, measuring and mixing ingredients, molding and shaping dough, and processing everything through the ovens
- Also work alongside your team to keep the bakery clean, and provide delightful customer service.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Minimum 2 year’s experience scratch baking in a professional bakery
- French Pastry experience an asset, but not required
- Experience in bread (sourdough and baguettes), mandatory
- Energetic with a positive work ethic
- Able to multi-task
- Reliable and able to work independently with confidence
- Able to work as a team under the Department Manager
- Must be able to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skill - must speak English.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting.
- Ability to use a commercial oven, commercial stand mixer and other baking equipment.
- Able to read instructions and follow directions in English
- Strong organizational skills and time management skills
- Must be accountable for the quality and standard of products produced
- Able to pay attention to detail
- Food handling certification a plus
- You’re a morning person as shifts start in the middle of the night and or early morning hours
- Basic math and measuring skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree from a post-secondary culinary arts training program preferred
- Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including mornings and weekends

**Compensation**:

- $17.20 - $20.00 per hour based on experience (starting Oct. 1st)
- 30 min unpaid break per shift
