**EHS Specialist - Contract (2301027) - 12 Month Contract -**
**Saskatoon, SK**

**_Where the Chemistry Happens _**

This role is responsible for North American (NA) EHS matters associated with Seeds & Traits (S & T) sites. This role will also provide EHS service and expertise to S & T sites in NA. Major EHS responsibilities include leading EHS projects, developing and implementing EHS programs and tools for the NA S & T sites. Performing internal EHS Assessments and business EHS Audits. Be the key EHS contact for multiple sites (breeding, trait development, seed production and processing, seed warehousing, seed research, greenhouses, lab research). Executing the implementation of EHS management systems across all S & T sites including but not limited to: Safe Work Permitting, Control of Hazardous Energy, Confined Space, Hot Work, Line Breaking, Incident Management and Reporting, MOC, HIRA, conducting training for site personnel among other activities.

**_Formula for Success: You Will _**
- Provide EHS Service, guidance, and expertise: assist sites in implementing EHS programs, taking care to ensure the program is appropriate (‘right type/right size’) for each site. Provide EHS training to assist with program implementation.
- Perform EHS Audits and Assessments: develop, communicate, and execute a plan to perform EHS Audits & Assessments. Prepare reports and communicate results to appropriate stakeholders.
- Perform EHS Risk Assessments: perform Risk Assessments and/or teach others to perform risk assessments. Identify practical and effective mitigation measures to reduce risk. Communicate Risk Assessment results to appropriate stakeholders. Provide EHS training to enable others to also perform Risk Assessments.
- Provide EHS training to enable others to also perform Risk Assessments.
- Perform EHS Incident Investigations: perform and/or supervise incident investigations employing evidence collection, appropriate interview techniques, computer forensics, statement collection, report writing, etc. Perform Root Cause Analysis and communicate findings to appropriate stakeholders.
- Manage EHS projects: develop, plan, communicate, execute, and track progress (e.g., CapEx, EHS Initiative Launch etc. as needed basis).

**Qualifications**

**_Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You _**

Minimum 5 years EHS experience serving multiple sites.

Collaboration Skills - This role accomplishes EHS goals via collaborative teamwork (e.g., peers, Regional EHS, Site Safety Contacts (SSC) and Site/Station Managers).

Communication Skills - The Job Holder communicates (verbal and written) with openness, clarity, organizational awareness, and empathy to achieve desired results.

Customer Focus Skills - This role accomplishes EHS goals by providing business customers in S &T with ‘right type/right size’ service, guidance, and expertise.

Influencing skills - Job Holder must know how to present data-driven EHS solutions to Site/Station Managers to achieve EHS Business goals.

Efficiency & Effectiveness Mindset - must know how to develop practical plans to implement EHS corporate policies and procedures ‘at scale’ for multiple seed processing and research sites.

Data analysis skills and experience using databases and electronic tools.

Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis skills.
