**The Opportunity**

We currently have a rewarding opportunity for a passionate Geoscientist to join our Mineralogy team at XPS in Greater Sudbury, Ontario. The position will be based in Falconbridge, Ontario. This is a full-time position.

Reporting to the Principal Geoscientist, you will work in an analytical Mineral Science laboratory equipped with an electron probe microanalyzer (EPMA), x-ray diffractometer (XRD) and automated scanning electron microscopes (QEMSCAN/TIMA). Project work will focus on orebody characterization and mineralogical audits of concentrators or analysis of laboratory and process test work samples. You will interact with internal and external clients in engineering and geological disciplines. Travel may be a requirement for some project work.

**What you will bring**:

- Honours B.Sc. in Geology/Mineralogy/Earth Science
- 1-3 years of mineralogy experience
- Eligibility for or working towards licensure as a Professional Geoscientist in Ontario
- A keen interest in mineralogy and the interaction of minerals with different processing methods is considered an asset (process mineralogy)
- Experience with automated mineralogy techniques and operation of analytical equipment in a laboratory setting is considered an asset (SEM/EDS, XRD, EPMA, LA-ICPMS)
- Additional experience or exposure in the areas of mineral processing, extractive metallurgy or materials engineering are considered an asset.
- Strong project management and reporting skills
