Manufacturing Cleaner

**Basic Function**

In accordance with written or oral instructions, is responsible for the cleanliness and general appearance of an assigned area. Responsible for carrying out sanitation procedures as scheduled. Train as back up Production Service Operator to assist and cover during illness and vacation.

**Responsibilities**
- Must be able to follow directions of Sanitation Procedure Manual and maintain sanitation records.
- Keep the department in a state of audit readiness in regards to cleanliness and related documentation.
- Make up cleaning solutions as per proper strengths.
- Perform daily; weekly; quarterly; and annual cleanings of designated areas on a scheduled basis and document in logbooks as per sanitation procedures
- Perform daily scale verification checks and record in logbooks daily.
- Must be able to train and perform back up duties on a higher-grade job, i.e. production service operator.
- Assist Processor in basic functions while under supervision of processor.
- Assist Production Service Operator with basic equipment cleaning functions.
- Remove empty cages and return to Dispensing department.
- Clean up any emergency spills.
- Fills waste drums and label them appropriately before removing.
- Collect and deliver refuse (waste glass, metal, paper containers, etc.) to compactor as required.
- Sanitize floor drains and logs dates.
- Must be able to enter and work in confined spaces
- To obtain and maintain QA checking status.
- Stores all cleaning utensils/tools in specified areas for proper sanitation.
- Changes filters in all processing rooms as required
- Responsible for inventory of sanitation supplies - cleaning agents, mops, waxes, polishes, etc.

Performs other related duties as assigned

Other
- Required to work without much supervision. Must be aware of products in the area when performing cleaning operations.
- Overtime work may be required.

Shift work is required.

**Education**

Minimum high school graduation diploma
