**Job Summary**:
The Mechanical Design Coordinator will report directly to the Mechanical Design Manager to provide design support to the Mechanical Design Manager as well as the Mechanical Design Leads. You will complete tasks relating to the support of ongoing projects and department infrastructure improvements.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assisting the Project Lead in coordinating activities between designers both internal and under contract.
- Assisting with project documentation and presentation to customers as required.
- Creating and updating Project execution schedules on a routine basis.
- Assistance with motion list updates
- Liaising with the manufacturing department on design deployment and proposed scheduling by way of scheduling manufacturing meetings, following up with design release progress and reporting back to the Mechanical design manager.
- Arranging technical reviews with third parties and assisting with SOW documentation to external resources and vendors.
- Providing floor support and coordination relating to project build and development activities.
- Maintaining department build standards for reference and training purposes.
- Assisting with the creation of standard products, their build and development tracking and final documentation.
- Provide auxiliary support to the PMs as requested.
- Provide backup support to Project Leads during their absences
- Supporting ISO 9001:2015 documentation and build specifications
- Streamlining and standardizing design and order processes between projects

**Job Qualifications**:

- Engineering Degree or Engineering Technologist/Technician - BSc., P. Eng., or CET. preferred
- 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in design and project management with automated welding and assembly equipment.
- Positive attitude
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, disciplined approach to work
- Ability to work well in a supporting role as well as a lead on identified department infrastructure tasks.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a constantly changing environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to coordinate project activity under a variety of conditions and constraints
- Excellent judgment and strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to understand the financial impact of relevant options
- Flexibility to perform under short time constraints to meet deadlines
- Effective working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work overtime
- Ability to travel within and outside of Canada
