Facility Maintenance Worker

Richmond Hill, Canada PAG Direct Full time

Performs maintenance & repairs related to multiple buildings, grounds and equipment within the northern GTA area, in one or more areas such as electrical, plumbing, painting and grounds keeping.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**

**Building**
- Abides by store's lock up procedures.
- Empties exterior garbage bins, and collects yard waste.
- Operates motor vehicle to pick up and move goods and supplies.
- Transports equipment, furniture and supplies manually and/or using aides such as dollies and carts.
- Cleans external areas such as entranceways, sidewalks and parking lots using manual and power brooms, rakes, shovels and other equipment to remove dirt, leaves, snow and other refuse.
- Performs minor gardening and lawn maintenance tasks such as mowing, weeding, pruning and watering.
- Performs minor repairs such as changing lightbulbs, hanging items on walls, painting and repairing minor wall damage, replace ceiling tiles.
- Establishes, monitors, and carries out preventative maintenance procedures and schedules for buildings, equipment and grounds. Ensures building and equipment meet all safety, security and fire regulations and policies. Makes recommendations for major repairs and purchases to supervisor.

**Equipment**
- Completes and maintains related records such as maintenance logs and security incident reports as required.
- Performs Weekly walks to review performance of equipment and facility
- Monitors work performed by contractors, prepares estimates of labour and material costs, contacts external contractors and trades people to obtain quotes and arranges for major repairs and maintenance work.

**Janitorial**
- Ensures all cleaning equipment is maintained regularly.
- Communicates supply needs to management.
- Fills soap dispensers and Hand Sanitizers, replace toilet paper and replenish any other washroom supplies, as required.
- Mixes water and detergents to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
- Disinfects and cleans the washrooms including stalls, mirrors, walls, toilets, floors and sink area.

**Landscaping/Snow Removal**
- Cuts Grass and Weeds Gardens
- Removes snow from front entrance and exit and emergency exits.
- Performs other related duties as required

**Requirements**:

- Ability to work under mínimal supervision.
- Ability to work at Heights - Certification an Asset
- Experience in a janitorial/custodial or maintenance role.
- Results-oriented individual.
- Effective reading and oral communication skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and to demonstrate responsibility for outcomes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment that provides assistance and support to co-workers to achieve common goals.
- Ability to adapt and cope with challenging and changing situations.
- Positive attitude, punctuality and solid work ethic.
- Experience with a CMMS an asset
