- Minimum 2-3 years' experience working in event management/ Donor Relations in a fundraising environment.
- Experience in not-for-profit fundraising.
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience in prospect research; experience supporting major gifts fundraising
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) required.
- Effective presentation skills with the ability to speak in front of large groups.
- Proven track record of developing superior relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the planning, implementation, execution, and evaluation of all CKHAF events that meet and exceed event revenue goals.
- Work with Manager of Development to develop a strategy that will effectively promote new and innovative event concepts and refresh events.
- Oversees the organization of all third party events with a focus to maximize financial support, building Foundation profile, and enhancing Foundation relationships in the community.
- Manages third party requests and acts as a resource for third party events providing information, promotional material, and support.
- Actively prospects and solicits community service clubs and groups
- Solicit gift-in-kind donations to support live & silent auctions or other event needs.
- Conduct post-event evaluations, feedback sessions, and present analysis to senior leadership.
- Works with the Foundation team to ensure donors are appropriately recognized and informed.
- Proactive in encouraging and cultivating third parties to organize successful events for CKHAF.
- Actively pursues business development & funding opportunities with community based charitable giving programs.
- Assists in creation of online micro-sites for community events.
- Update Raiser's Edge through proposals and actions for all events.
- Maintaining donor records to track pledges and payments
- Leads various local fundraisers and programs to engage community.
- Prioritize, schedule and ensure timely completion of multiple projects.
- Represents the Foundation within the community at various meetings and fundraising events when required.
- Establishes and maintains a wide network of external relationships with donors, community liaisons, volunteers, partners, and referring organizations.
- Collaborates and develops an annual stewardship strategy with the Manager, Development that will engage existing and new community event organizers to support retention & acquisition goals.
- Coordinating the organization's recognition of donors through events or other special recognition opportunities
- Support stewardship initiatives including stewardship reports, annual donor reception, site tours, gift announcements and ribbon cuttings
- Professional donor centred approach to event strategy, execution and evaluation will maximize opportunities to develop and sustain the interest and commitment of donors.
- Communicate with donors to build relationships and ensure donor recognition is appropriate and personalized.
- Ensure adequate and appropriate information sharing with speakers and program participants so the messaging is clear and the event flows as planned.
- Work in collaboration with Manager of Development to develop detailed budget, monitor all budgeted expenditures; develop critical paths, event schedules, site set-up plans ensuring implementation in keeping with high standards.
- In concert with Development strategies, use knowledge of donor constituencies and relationship with Hospital stakeholders to identify appropriate event speakers, champions and ambassadors, resulting in the creation of strong cultivation events designed to appeal to potential audiences and to inspire investment in CKHA.
