**Job Description**:
AECOM is seeking an EHS Consultant to be based out of either these locations: Markham, ON; Kitchener, ON; Mississauga, ON; Ottawa

**Responsibilities**:
**Take on assigned H&S projects such as (but not limited to)**: H&S audits, industrial hygiene sampling, construction safety management and hazardous materials management

+ Conduct health and safety compliance audits to regulatory requirement

+ Provide construction safety assurance by reviewing and assessing Contractor’s Health & Safety Plan and Safe Work Method submissions and inspecting construction sites.

+ Perform industrial hygiene and hazardous materials field assignments (sampling, monitoring, and/or investigation) independently

+ Lead and participate on-site health and safety meetings (e.g. tailgate meeting, JHSC meeting, incident investigation meeting, etc)

+ Ensure compliance with client’s health and safety standards and requirements

+ Consistently executing prescribed technical procedures and work plans.

+ Interacting, coordinating, and scheduling projects with clients, as directed by the Project Managers, EHS Manager and/or Director.

+ Handling difficult situations with tact and diplomacy to maintain positive working relationships with all internal and external contacts.

+ Consistently maintaining professionalism and objectivity while working with colleagues and clients who require varying degrees of support.

+ Conducting project administration tasks as required, including timesheet generation, project finance management and project invoicing.

**Qualifications**:
**Minimum Requirements**:
+ Relevant degree from an accredited institution, as well as an educational qualification in occupational health and safety

+ 6 years of experience in health and safety consultation or advisory role (e.g. engineering consulting, oil and gas, and construction)

**Preferred Qualifications**:
+ Thorough understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Construction Regulations with emphasis on creating strong safety culture on-site and accident prevention techniques including compliance with external and internal policies;
**+ Must have experience in one of the following**:
+ Experience with construction projects - (e.g. railway, subway, light rail, commercial, industrial)

+ Experience with industrial hygiene projects (e.g. biological/chemical/physical exposure)

+ Experience with environmental health and safety compliance audits (e.g ISO45001 or COR)

+ Professional and technical designations _are an asset_ (CIH/ROH, CSP/ASP/CRSP, NSCO, CSO)

+ Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

+ Strong organizational, administrative, analytical and problem-solving abilities

+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy

+ Proficient in MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

+ Availability to travel with valid driver’s license required

+ Reliable vehicle and insurance

+ Experienced in performing third-party health and safety audits
