We are currently seeking a Team Lead, Instructional Design to join our team.

The Team Lead, Instructional Design provides leadership and direction to a team of learning and development advisors. Supports the Manager, Learning and Development to advance training design and learning technology for the Learning and Development function and deliver on reporting needs. This includes managing course design and development processes, evaluating course design, and creating integrated learning programs and solutions based on adult learning principles and instructional design best practices to enhance the learner experience and enable performance outcomes. The Team Lead performs instructional design work and develops and delivers instructor-led training. Working closely with the Manager, Learning and Development, the Team Lead provides progress reports, maintains instructional design records, and communicates with stakeholders to promote collaboration, accountability, and adoption of innovative learning solutions.

**Here’s what would be included as a part of your typical day**
- **Leadership**:Provides operational leadership to assigned team of learning professionals and ensures programs and services are delivered effectively and efficiently within established timeframes. Provides coaching and development, establishes annual goals, and assesses performance of direct reports. Provides back-up coverage as required for the Manager, Learning and Development
- **Service Delivery**: Ensures cost effective and quality learning and development programs are developed and delivered that meet organizational priorities and objectives within established budget and timeframes.
- **Learning Design and Development**: Leads design and development of learning programs, assessment tools and processes that are aligned with business objectives and meet operational needs. Manages the development and delivery of cost effective, quality programs for key multi-incumbent roles. Develops and maintains reporting and analytics to track the effectiveness and impact of learning.
- **Project Management**: Leads projects related to learning and development. Establishes standards and tools for projects and manages vendors, contracts, resources, and capacity planning. Researches practices and emerging trends in instructional technology, educational policy, assessment of learning effectiveness, and blended and online learning, working with the Manager Learning & Development to evolve the function.

**Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications**
- Provincial Instructors Diploma or equivalent education in adult learning required
- 5 years’ experience in instructional design required
- Previous leadership coaching and mentoring experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with a wide variety of people
- Demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills with ability to influence stakeholders to adopt recommended learning solutions
- Proven time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems and advance continuous improvement initiatives
- Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to clarify requirements for learning solutions
- Create and present instructional design proposals to achieve desired impact on performance and to build required skills.
- Design learning solutions in multiple modalities to promote active learning, skill development on the job, and learner engagement.
- Develop effective and appropriate communication and measurement strategies for learning solutions and programs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on current practices and emerging trends in instructional technology, educational policy, assessment of learning effectiveness, and blended and online learning
- Contribute to the development of our learning culture by building relationships and elevating our stakeholders’ understanding of effective learning strategies for adult learners and best practices in helping adults learn.
- Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with a diverse workforce.
- Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures.
