Anatomic Pathology encompasses Histology, Cytology and Medical Transcription. Staff work closely with pathologists and a wide variety of departments and extended clients to provide Anatomic Pathology services. Cytology is the preparation and screening of two types of specimens, gynecological and non-gynecological.

**Major Functions and Responsibilities**
- Performs regular duties of a Cytotechnologist I and maintains technical skill level required for Anatomic Pathology
- Provides technical support and expertise to staff within Anatomic Pathology
- Performs post screening of abnormal slides and high risk cases
- Participates in internal and external quality control
- Ensures “client” focus by maintaining appropriate communication, both written and verbal, between internal and external clients
- Monitors and oversees orientation and training of staff and internal/external clients
- Evaluates and modifies new methodologies and equipment
- Adheres to current laboratory policies and procedures including company safety procedures and informs and enforces policies and procedures

Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years recent Cytology experience is required
- Current post screening experience within the last 2 years is an asset

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Medical Laboratory Cytotechnologist with current CMLTA registration

**Other Information**
- Please note, this position receives responsibility pay of 4% for every hour worked
- Please note that DynaLIFE positions are scheduled to transition to either APL or AHS on or before December 18, 2023
- Preference for this position will be given to bargaining unit members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the DynaLIFE/HSAA Collective Agreement
