- The IDEA School of Design is a career-oriented school for the next generation of creative professionals. Now offering a 4-year Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication and a 2-year Interaction Design diploma. We are looking for an instructor to help students expand their skills, build their portfolios and gain industry experience.
- As an IDEA school of Design instructor you will teach traditional and digital illustration courses and concentration projects in the Bachelor of Design program.
- The scope of work is as follows:
- Plan, prepare and teach courses or specialized projects to beginner and advanced students
- Create effective course materials including syllabi, lectures, assignments, and exams
- Undertake a student-oriented approach to education and provide a safe and welcoming class environment
- Instruct, motivate, and provide critical and constructive feedback to students
- Liaise with the program coordinators/chair and other faculty members and contribute to non-teaching program initiatives as required
- Participate in campus life through cross-department initiatives and teaching and learning opportunities

**What you’ll bring**
- Qualifications and Experience- Master’s degree or a combination of professional, educational, and instructional equivalencies;
- Proven professional experience (i.e. portfolio) demonstrating technical and conceptual experience in both traditional and digital illustration;
- Capacity to assess and advise students at every stage of a commercial illustration project through clear communication;
- Clear sense of existing and emerging markets and opportunities available to illustrators;
- Organized, flexible, and supportive of students’ learning
