We are looking for an experienced **Trainer** to join our team in this newly created role

**You have**:

- 5+ years in temporary traffic control with 2+ years in a leadership role
- 2+ years experience in a formal training role is an asset
- Continuing education and/or other formal learning related to training including developing content, facilitation, evaluation etc. is an asset
- Proven experience in coaching, mentoring, and evaluation of Field Staff on proper job performance procedures and standards
- Exceptional knowledge of temporary traffic control operations including Direct Traffic’s policy & procedures manual, Book 7, and the Highway Traffic Act
- Exceptional communication skills - spoken, written, and read
- Committed to providing a high level of service to internal customers with a view to exceeding external customers’ expectations
- G class driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract
- CVOR driving experience with a clean CVOR
- Computer literate and experienced with Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Willingness to work various hours to train staff on all shifts
- Availability for overtime as required

**As a Trainer, you will**:

- Collaborate with Operations, Project Management, and Human Resources to develop training programs and evaluations for Field Staff, potential Team Leads, and current Team Leads
- Develop training schedules for newly hired Field Staff including assignment to Team Leads/Crash Truck Drivers, follow up evaluations, continued training, and support
- Facilitate hands-on training to all levels of Field Staff in the yard/shop, field, and in-class
- Support transfer of training through in-field support, observations, initial and continuing evaluations, and retraining
- Assist Operations in the identification of potential Team Leads
- Train and mentor potential Team Leads utilizing a documented program including hands-on training, on-going evaluation, identification of gaps, additional required supports, and providing support and mentorship through the employment lifecycle
- Participate in other Operations and/or Human Resources projects to support the needs of the business and further development of the Training function
- Create, update, and maintain training materials and associated documentation utilizing Microsoft Office ensuring compliance to Company policy and required legislation
- Communicate with Employees at all levels of the Organization
- Participate in meetings and complete assigned tasks within an agreed upon timeline
- Other duties as assigned
