In this role as **Project Manager** reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will manage projects at the Cement Plant in Edmonton, Alberta.

**What you’ll get to do**:

- Prepare AFEs and financial model for submission ensuring consistent format and compliance with CAPEX requirements for all capital projects.
- Submit AFE documents into CAPEX system.
- Coordinate monthly meeting to review plant AFE list status and priorities.
- For assigned projects, design solution, develop work scope, Prepare reliable and cost effective technical concepts, Prepare time schedules and manage the project to meet timelines, Develop project plans and identify the necessary resources for completion of the project, engage suppliers and contractors, develop CAPEX submission with financial justification, expedite approval, proactively manage construction and safety, manage project costs, administer project purchasing and invoicing, and close project, organize commissioning, Support transition to operations activities, including operation and maintenance training and development of standard operating procedures.
- Manage Plant Electrical Energy and Fuel Energy Costs programs.
- Support existing service contract and plant programs in coordination with the Maintenance Engineer including HVAC, elevators, ABSA, APEGA, Alberta Direct Connect Consumers Association
- Collaborate with internal technical specialists and operations personnel and outside consultants, equipment suppliers, technology providers, and contractors.
- Coordinate technical studies as required.
- Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group Guidelines, completion of required training, and monitoring compliance.
- Proactively manage the safety and health of employees to continuously improve the company’s safety and health performance
- Support the procurement of goods and services by reviewing tender and related procurement documents, reviewing bids, and participating in the evaluation and associated purchasing activities.
- Provide basic drawing modifications and updates.
- Coordinate with outside services for major updates.
- Assist with locating appropriate drawings as needed by plant operations.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

**Who we are looking for**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Project Management.
- Industrial plant experience
- Advanced understanding of project management practices and tools, including schedules, cost reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
- Experience with planning the phases of a project and transforming the results into an efficient time schedule
- Skilled in the use of SAP and Microsoft Office software
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Understanding of contractual matters (negotiation and legal aspects) gained through wide experience
- Demonstrated skills to understand, influence, empathize and communicate with people on project teams to achieve the project’s goals.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Incumbents are expected to be prepared to make frequent presentations both internally to the organization, and externally to stakeholders and the public. Strong public speaking and presentation skills are essential to this role.
