**Your Opportunity**:
The Service Worker I is responsible for a variety of duties supporting department/ unit operations ranging from the transporting of patients, equipment, to the cleaning of equipment in accordance with established Alberta Health Services standards and practices. Transports patients between departments in the UAH, Mazankowski and Kaye Edmonton clinic. Participates in locating equipment and returning them to various storage areas e.g.: Wheelchair corrals and ED. Morgue transfers. Secures treatment devices and patient equipment for transport e.g.: IV poles, Foley catheters, 02 cylinders, Patients on 02- verifies 02 ticket transfer with sending unit, transfer patient to wall 02 at receiving unit. Verify handover of 02 ticket to responsible party. Verifies patient identity and destination. Assist healthcare providers with transferring patients to wheelchair or stretcher. If the patient is requiring transport on a bed, the porter may ask for assistance with transport from the Units. Adhere to IPC protocol on appropriate PPE for patients on Additional Precautions. Cleaning/ disinfecting of equipment between patient use if required. e.g.: Oxygen cylinder holders.

**Description**:
As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

**Required Qualifications**:
Grade 12 or equivalent.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Must be able to read, write and speak English proficiently. CPR Certification annually-Heart saver. It’s Your Move annually. Hand Hygiene. O2 ticket transfer. Connect Care
- Porter staff ILT. N95 Fit testing. Personal Protective Equipment. Physical exertion - walking, sitting and / or standing. Must be able to lift, push and transfer over 50 kg as required. Handling, moving and lifting heavy, awkward or oversized equipment and / or clients. Must be able to cope with high levels of stress, fluctuating priorities, and time sensitive deadlines.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
UAH porter experience preferred. Exposure to AROs.
