- Collaborating with a well-rounded team of like-minded individuals that includes senior regulatory advisors (Water Act, Public Lands Act, municipal), junior to senior aquatic ecologists, junior to senior wildlife biologists, and junior to senior environmental inspectors. - Working on the assessment and permitting side with a variety of professional engineering firms to complete aquatic assessments and environmental protection plans to guide sustainable construction activities.

These projects involve many different facets, including care of water, wildlife management, vegetation management, and erosion and sediment control (ESC). Opportunity Description

We are seeking an individual who is a team player, is highly motivated, independent, and committed to working with a diverse group of environmental staff. The Junior Fisheries Biologist/Technician reports to and works closely

with the Team Lead Fisheries in support of fisheries related projects. The Biologist/Technician will interact with a multi-disciplinary team of environmental professionals on a number of diverse projects that could be occurring concurrently. Support for fisheries baseline assessments, environmental risk assessments, Environmental Construction Operations (ECO) Plan development, construction supervision and environmental monitoring, fish rescue, water quality sampling, riparian assessments, and the development and implementation of watercourse reclamation/restoration projects are some of the deliverables we provide to clients. The ability to work well as part of a team but also independently is required. Fieldwork would make up a large portion of the duties of this position; therefore, the strength and ability to work outside in varying weather conditions, in remote locations, away for extended periods and with physically demanding terrain is a must.

Experience in this position will provide the background to become a "Qualified Aquatic Environment Specialist" (QAES) under the Alberta Water Act, which means a person who has a detailed knowledge of aquatic environment, inc
