**Role and Responsibilities**

Capital Door is a wood door manufacturer. Providing local hardware houses and constructors with in house fabricated wood doors.

We need experienced people who are willing to work hard and take pride in the quality of their work. We will be selective to find someone willing to put in the effort and who cares about the final outcome of each project.

We are currently seeking to employ a Wood Door Machinist meeting the following criteria:
**Responsibilities**:

- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and hardware templates.
- A good understanding of the material properties of wood and veneers as well as laminates.
- Be able to work cooperatively and communicate with all members of the organization.
- Possess the physical ability to continuously lift & bend entire days.
- Proficient in operating hand and power tools associated with woodworking. (Routers, saws, chisels, etc.)
- Have a good mechanical ability and know how to read and understand instructions as well as organize incoming jobs to ensure proper machining.
- Ability to maintain shop equipment and ensure precision of machining.
- Ability to use and fabricate router templates from shop drawings and templates supplied.
- Maintain and build upon the Capital door name.

**Daily Responsibilities**:

- Machining hinge pockets, cylindrical locks, mortise locks and other specialty hardware.
- Complete sanding and finish work on the final product.
- Organise tooling for efficient workflow.
- Inspect work to ensure a quality product.
- Package doors to ship to the customer.

**Qualifications**:

- Must be dependable and reliable
- Must be detailed oriented
- Must be approachable and get along well with others
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills
- Must have a strong working knowledge of most machinery including, Routers Edge Bander, Table saw and all other typical shop tools.
- Must have knowledge of box assembly to architectural commercial wood working.
