Summary
Under the direction of the Manager, Foundational Standards, the Data Analyst provides summarized data for the generation of reports and participates in the development and management of dashboards and databases used for population health assessment and surveillance, program planning and evaluation, research, and quality improvement. The Data Analyst conducts statistical and qualitative analyses and assists in the interpretation and identification of opportunities for improvement. The Data Analyst assists in ensuring there is clean and accurate data across all public health databases.
**Qualifications**:
EDUCATION
- Post-secondary education in statistics/data analysis or related discipline
- Specific courses in epidemiology or biostatistics would be considered an asset
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Experience creating and maintaining dashboards with software such as Tableau and
Power BI
- Experience working with others as part of a research/evaluation team
- Experience working with commonly used public health data sets is an asset, for example, Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS), iPHIS, CCM, and intelliHEALTH among others.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to communicate effectively and provide relevant data used in reports, scientific manuscripts, and to synthesize and display statistical data in understandable formats
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Valid Ontario Driver’s license and access to a reliable insured vehicle
- Must comply with the current Ontario Public Health Standards
- Ability to work flexible hours as required
- Adherence to SWPH’s policies and procedures
Terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement.
**Salary Range**: $29.67/hr. to $34.94/hr. (70 hours in a two-week period).
OMERS pension and a comprehensive Health and Dental benefits package upon completion of probationary period.
**Immunization Requirements**: Provide documentation you have received two (2) doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, plus at least one booster dose, and acknowledgement to follow Southwestern Public Health's policies and processes related to COVID-19 management in the workplace.
