**Location - **Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton. This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person.

**Working for the School of Public Health**

Research at the School of Public Health is designed to create evidence-informed links between new knowledge and public health policy and practice. To achieve this goal, we engage in both curiosity-driven and community-driven inquiry, and are committed to productive knowledge exchange.

The Collaborative Applied Research for Equity in Health Policy & Systems Research Lab is an applied health policy and systems research program that tackles complex public health priorities and health system challenges by collaborating with policy
- and decision-makers, practitioners, and communities to support evidence-informed decisions and applied interventions that improve health and health equity.

**Position**

Under the direction of the Director of the CARE Research Lab, this position carries out research activities related to policy analysis, knowledge synthesis, and creation of research dissemination materials. These activities will advance critical knowledge about the implementation of primary healthcare innovations for Indigenous peoples to advance health equity and system transformation. This position will impact the uptake of our research findings by primary healthcare policymakers, health system decision-makers, and community partners.

**Duties**
- ** Project Management**
- Establish and monitor work plans, timelines, and deliverables of projects
- Coordinate virtual and in-person knowledge-sharing events, e.g. policy dialogue workshops, research seminars, etc.
- Assist with the preparation of annual reports
- ** Research Activities**
- Conduct scoping reviews: collect and analyze policy documents and interview transcriptions
- Conduct semi-structured interviews with healthcare professionals, policymakers, and Indigenous-focused primary healthcare physicians
- Summarize key findings and prepare research summaries, policy briefs, and reports
- ** Knowledge Mobilization: Co-Creation, Exchange & Dissemination**
- Develop and maintain relationships with key policy, research, and community partners in primary healthcare
- Develop and execute knowledge mobilization plans based on integrated knowledge translation
- Co-design implementation strategies to meet the needs of health systems and policy partners
- Develop and maintain an electronic resource of knowledge mobilization materials

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Master's degree in Public Health, or a related field
- 2 years experience in an evidence-based health research environment conducting systematic or scoping reviews
- 5 years experience in population health planning and/or health services delivery
- Knowledge of the Alberta Health Care system
- Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methodologies
- Demonstrated adaptive thinking and critical analysis skills
- Excellent academic writing skills, including the ability to convey key messages in plain language
- Results-oriented with an ability to work cooperatively and efficiently in a professional and ethical manner

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Training or foundational coursework in Health Policy and Systems Research (HSPR)
- Familiar with research standards for human participants
- Familiar with policies and procedures related to conducting Indigenous health research
- Familiar with the implementation of science theories, models, and frameworks
