Reporting to the Hospitality Manager, the Laundry Aide impacts resident centered care by assisting in the provision of a high-quality laundry and linen service. The main accountabilities of the position are transporting, preparing, washing soiled facility laundry and personal clothing and the distribution of clean linen and apparel.

The incumbent also acts as a role model and ambassador for the Mission and Values of the Foundation.

**Position Summary**:
**2 temporary (3 months) Part-Time Positions, 0.4 FTE and 0.7 FTE**

To be aware of the residents’ linen and laundry needs and to report any problems accordingly. To ensure that every resident enjoys clean and well-maintained lined and laundry and that this is presented to the required standard. To ensure that the Centre has a fresh supply of linen and laundry items available at all times.

**Qualifications**

**Experience**:

- Previous experience as a Laundry Aide.
- Previous Long Term / Continuing Care experience considered an asset.
- Experience operating industrial sized washer and dryers preferred.

**Skills Required**:

- Ability to physically execute the requirements of the position. (Lift, pull push up to 50lbs)
- Ability to take verbal and written direction.
- Ability to work independently and function as part of a team with a commitment to safety.
- Basic knowledge of OH&S regulations and WHMIS preferred.

**Ability to communicate in Cantonese/Mandarin will be considered an asset.**

**All employees are required to submit a criminal record check upon job offer, which includes a vulnerable sector check.**

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $16.69-$18.85 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift

COVID-19 considerations:
Our facility requires continuous masking, for staff to have minimum of 2 doses of Covid-19 vaccination and follows all policies and protocols as mandated by AHS.
