As an estimator, your role involves assessing construction projects, estimating costs, and presenting proposals to both existing and potential customers. You'll need strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain customer relationships, as well as a deep understanding of construction materials and methods. Collaborating with contractors and staying updated on industry trends are crucial aspects of this role. Effective communication and negotiation skills are essential for closing deals and ensuring successful project outcomes. This is a full-time position and reports directly to the owners. **Duties**:

- Build relationships with contractors.
- Business development of new customers.
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
- Estimate material requirements from a blueprint using our specialized software program.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
- Analyze project scope and identify potential risks and opportunities
- Conduct quantity takeoffs and prepare material, labor, and equipment cost estimates
- Prepare bid proposals and present estimates to clients
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive bids
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and provide value engineering suggestions as needed
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules
- Understand and be able to explain building code requirements to customers.
- Submit estimates personally and in a timely manner.
- Establish relationships with both existing and new customers.
- Follow up all quotes.
- Send orders for projects to our suppliers as required.
- Be creative to gain new contacts

Qualifications:

- Experience in carpentry, construction estimating or related field
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes
- Proficiency in using estimating software
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimating
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders

Note: Experience with build projects is preferred.
