**The salary range for this position is**:
**Recruitment range: $72,191- $79,595 **starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.

**Performance range: starting salary to max of $93,896** is available through annual performance increases.

- Job SummaryThe Web UX and Digital Development Officer is a web communications expert leading large decentralized web projects for faculties, departments and units at UVic on behalf of the department of University Communications and Marketing. They utilize user-centered strategies, robust discovery research methodologies, industry standards and best practices, and outcome focused success metrics and analytics to plan and implement consistent and persuasive web communications across campus.

This position reports to the Manager, Digital Development and User Experience with guidance and close collaboration from the Information Architect and User Experience Specialist, Senior Web Officer, and the Web Template Coordinator. This position will also work closely with other members of the UCAM team, and communications liaisons and website managers from faculties, departments and units across campus.
- Job RequirementsThis position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Communications, Information Design, or similar field or equivalent and at least 3 years of recent experience in an Information Architecture / User Experience role, leading sophisticated and complex digital projects for large institutions.. Experience must include:

- Discovery research experience for large institutional websites and other current and emerging technologies (including research design and planning)
- Directing the creation of audience testing methodologies and working groups;
- Conducting comparative institutional communications review;
- Persona, journey and story development of user experiences for large institutional websites
- Defining creative solutions for clear, effective and persuasive online communications
- Wireframing, workflow mapping, prototype definition, and user testing communications solutions
- Resource planning both for the research and discovery of new solutions, as well as resource projections for the implementation of these solutions
- experience with XHTML, CSS and enterprise content management systems
- experience with Google Analytics, Google Data studio, Siteimprov and related analytical tools
- Strong customer service skills

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Assets or Preferences:

- Experience with higher ed communications
- Experience with Hannon Hill’s Cascade web content management system
- Knowledge of privacy laws and their impacts on digital communications
