**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the OR Booking Clerk is responsible for facilitating surgical related activities. Such activities include the efficient utilization of clinic nursing and anaesthesia time. In addition, the Booking Clerk is responsible for the coordination of registration and admission; booking patients and the required tests in preparation for surgery and coordination of clinic appointments and other tests.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Successful completion of an approved Office Administration program
- Completion of an approved Medical Terminology course
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a position providing administrative support
- Experience in OR Booking procedures and use of Operating Room Management System an asset
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (listening, verbal and written), demonstrating a high degree of tact, sensitivity, judgment, courtesy and confidentiality
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, sound judgement and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Ability to efficiently prioritize job requirements and work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Proficient in the effective use of computers (Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel, Power Point, E-mail) Meditech and the ability to acquire additional skills as necessary
- Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness and organizational health
- Physical and mental capabilities to perform the duties of the position
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

**Hours**:

- Part Time 20%, Short Assignment; 14 hours bi-weekly

**Compensation and Incentives**:
$24.77 - $27.62 hourly
