**SCOPE**
Reporting to the Senior Director, Community Engagement and Social Impact, the incumbent is responsible for the development, planning, coordination and implementation of community-engaged programming and the strategic development of emerging partnerships and projects by, with, and for Black communities.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead Concordia’s efforts to nurture strong, meaningful, responsive, and mutually beneficial relationships with Black-led community groups and organizations in Montreal. Support ongoing collaborations between Concordians and Black organizations and renew and/or develop further partnerships.
- Foster a strong internal network with Concordia units, faculty and staff members, students, and student associations to maximize the impact of community engagement initiatives. This includes working closely with the Black Perspectives Office & the Special Advisor to the Provost on Black integration and knowledges and participating in relevant committees and working groups.
- Develop a strong and effective external network of stakeholders (outreach). Provide advice, expertise and support to external community members in the development of new initiatives with Concordia. This includes representing Concordia on relevant committees and working groups or at events.
- Coordinate and implement opportunities to promote Concordia resources such as funding, space, services, experiential learning opportunities, etc., to Black community members and organizations
- Collaborate with the Office of Research and other relevant Concordia units to develop concrete guidelines for ethical and accountable community engagement with Montreal’s Black communities and Black community institutions/organizations
- Manage key relationships with Black community stakeholders. This entails communicating/meeting regularly with current or prospective partners to understand their needs and objectives and connecting them, where possible, with relevant Concordia stakeholders.
- Make recommendations on strategic opportunities for major partnerships or projects. This includes assessing required planning, resources, timelines, and potential impact.
- Recommend and convene participatory events. Organize, provide guidance and manage appropriate fora for community participation.
- Administer a modest fund for emerging projects that align with the priorities of the OCE and the recommendations from the Final Report of the President’s Task Force on Anti-Black Racism. This includes processing requests; making recommendations; completing financial transactions; and following up with recipients.
- Create tools and resources to support the integration of Black perspectives and expertise into existing community engagement programs and initiatives.
- Raise the profile of Concordia’s engagement with Black communities by working closely with the Coordinator, Programs and Communications in the implementation of the OCE integrated communications plan as well as the university-wide community engagement hub.
- Contribute to preparation of Annual Report including detailed accounts of activities carried out, programming delivered, costs, and an analysis of trends, learnings and future recommendations for effective planning.
- Perform other duties in support of the unit.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor Degree in a field relevant to the primary responsibilities and 2-4 years related experience.
- Demonstrated work and life experience in developing and executing community-led initiatives with and for Montreal’s Black communities, particularly with a focus on justice, equity and intersectionality.
- Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of issues pertaining to Black communities, particularly as related to post-secondary education.
- Familiarity with best practices in community-engaged research and community-based experiential learning considered a strong asset.
