The Social Work Manager plays a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive social work, rehabilitation, and classification programs within a male, youth secure custody/ detention facility. With a focus on meeting the diverse needs of young persons, this position involves providing direction to a team of staff who they have oversight of, coordinating liaison services with community agencies, and contributing to the formulation of facility policies and objectives. Additionally, the Social Work Manager oversees the daily operations of the assigned team, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and fostering an inclusive and values-based work environment. Through effective leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration with regional management officials, this role drives continuous improvement in social work and rehabilitative standards, ultimately enhancing outcomes for youth within the justice system.

**Deliver on Business Goals and Priorities**
Your leadership will be crucial in guiding the team towards the achievement of its business goals. It will be your responsibility to inspire and motivate your team to deliver their best performance and align the team's daily actions with the strategic vision of the ministry. You will contribute to the achievement of team goals by:
- Develop, implement, and assess social work, rehabilitation, and classification programs in a youth secure facility. This involves understanding and documenting the needs of admitted and discharged individuals, documenting interventions, and aligning programs with Performance Framework Outcomes.
- Guide departmental staff on treatment methods and practices, including overseeing field placements for students. Provide professional advice and coordinate staff training to enhance program effectiveness.
- Serve as a link between the facility and community agencies, such as police departments and parole boards. Conduct public relations activities to inform stakeholders about available programs and services.
- Identify individual and family needs, matching them with appropriate programs or referrals during discharge planning. Counsel challenging young persons and provide rehabilitative services to both individuals and their families.
- Assist in reviewing and formulating facility policies related to social work and rehabilitation. Offer input on general facility policies and participate in committees as a management representative.
- Manage the allocated budget for the unit/program, ensuring compliance with financial activities. Deliver quality service to clients and regularly report on financial activities to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and promotes professional growth.
**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory**:
- Bachelor of Social Work with significant experience or Master of Social Work degree required, as well as registration and good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)
**Program Development and Oversight**:
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive social work, rehabilitation, and classification programs within a youth secure facility.
- Ensure programs align with facility needs, resources, and Performance Framework Outcomes, overseeing proper assessment, evaluation, and documentation procedures.
- Minimum 3-5 years of frontline social work experience preferred
