**Building Cleaner**
Full-Time

Thursday to Sunday, 12noon - 8pm

**Hourly Rate**:$19.00/hr

The cleaning team brings a positive attitude and exceptional attention to detail to make our students feel at home We work as a team to enhance the student experience, with high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in a student residential setting. You should be adaptable to change in your work area with a willingness to learn new skills and improve your existing strengths.

Our cleaning team promotes a positive image of the property and must be pleasant, honest, friendly, and should be available to address student requests and concerns.

**Hours of Work**

Generally, consistent hours based on assigned schedule. This position may require weekend, evening, and holiday coverage, which will be scheduled in advance when necessary.

At our move-out and move-in times (typically April/May and August/September) the pace and volume of work is increased and may require additional hours to be worked.

**Experience**

We’re a 30 storey building with over 170 suites and almost 600 students. We’re looking for someone with hospitality experience who has excellent organizational and communication skills who is interested in engaging with our amazing community.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Must be willing to help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player;
- Ability to follow cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning products;
- An example of duties includes:

- Sweeping & mopping the lobby and residential floors.
- Cleaning the laundry room.
- Cleaning all amenity spaces, including gym (when it’s open), study spaces and hangout rooms.
- Empty and dispose of trash, recycling and compost.
- Clean & polish elevators.
- Dusting ledges, cleaning windows and wiping surfaces.
- Other duties will be assigned by the supervisor/management as they come up.

**Qualifications**
- Cleaning experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment is an asset.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage priorities.
- Must have excellent time-management skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to help out where needed.
- Must be able to work efficiently, completing the set standard number of rooms per shift.
- Ability to work independently.
- This role requires some manual lifting (moving supplies, etc.), and physical movement to complete the cleaning tasks.
- Must be willing to complete a criminal reference check.
