Lead 3D Artist

**Lead 3D Artist (Unity, Unreal or both)**

**About us**:
Equinox Games is looking for Lead Artists to join our fun and passionate team of artists.

We are a fun, teamwork oriented and completely remote Canadian based video game studio.

**Your primary responsibilities will be to**:

- Lead the 3D production continuous improvement process (Any 3D modeling software, Unity and/or Unreal engine), collaborating with the programming department;
- Develop a set of best practices, solutions and tools to solve problems and drive continuous improvement in the visual quality of our projects;
- Seek to constantly push the limits of available technology to get the most out of the tools and improve production efficiency;
- Find innovative solutions and demonstrate expertise in technical optimization and tool automation;
- Provide mentorship and contribute to the evaluation of the department's 3D artists;
- Be the technical expert for 3D art within Equinox Games.

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in 3D modeling and digital design, or Bachelor's degree in computer science, or other equivalent education, or any work experience equivalent to one of the above;
- Leadership and mentorship skills;
- Expertise in real-time 3D graphics and digital content creation techniques;
- Strong experience in shader creation and optimization;
- Experience in 3D modeling, texturing, lighting and VFX;
- In-depth knowledge of real-time 3D game engines, such as Unity or Unreal Engine;
- Solid knowledge of any 3D modeling software and Substance or equivalent;
- Fluency in English (oral and written).

**Additional skills appreciated**:

- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in similar roles and more than one year in AAA 3D content creation;
- Experience with versioning software (GIT, Perforce, etc.);
- Experience writing Max scripts;
- Knowledge of SpeedTree and Megascan;
- Team player, proactive, good communication skills.
