**Restaurant Leader**

We are looking to hire an experienced shift leader to help oversee the day-to-day operations of our kitchen & restaurant team. Everything that goes out of the kitchen is the responsibility of both the shift leader and the restaurant leader in the eyes of the Matamak brand; therefore, it is essential for the person with this job to be able to maintain high-levels of control within the kitchen at all times and to command the respect of his or her staff.

A person in this role must be able to spot problems and resolve them quickly and efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude, level head, and while delegating many tasks simultaneously to their team. This person will have 1-3+ years of experience leading shifts in a quick-serve or fast-casual atmosphere. This position is also charged with operating on the kitchen line when necessary while maximizing the productivity of the kitchen staff. Maintaining impeccable personal hygiene as well as high work and safety standards in the workplace is incredibly important for all team members, and this position is expected to set an example for the team below him or her while openly communicating with the restaurant leader. This person must also understand the importance of creativity in a quick-serve or fast-casual related atmosphere and have experience in such role.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

This position has a large range of duties and responsibilities within the kitchen. The most important of these is to ensure that quality culinary dishes are served on schedule and to see that any problems that arise are rectified. As such, the Shift Leader is responsible for approving all prepared food items alongside the restaurant leader and is required to work the line or expedite as needed. When the venue is not occupied with actively serving guests, as in between meal-times, this leader is expected to work alongside the restaurant leader and assist with him or her with side management duties. The Shift Leader will be required to use part of their time to work on developing (coaching) their team while creating a positive environment where everyone partakes in the development of new dishes and marketing content for the brand. As this brand must maintain a diverse and strategic menu, it is vital that the Shift Leader believes in the development of teammates to assist them in keeping the menu fresh. In addition, the Shift leader also assists the restaurant leader in administrative duties, including ordering food & beverage supplies.

Additional Duties:

- Assist in creating / maintaining recipe books for all current / new menu items
- Assist in maintaining and reporting on food & supply related inventory
- Open or close the restaurant in a safe and efficient manner following SOPs.
- Must promote a positive work environment that fosters growth and creativity
- Assist in the recruitment and hiring of staff with the restaurant leader

**Salary**: From $23.00 per hour
