**JOB DESCRIPTION**

The City of Orillia is seeking Camp Supervisors to join our team in the Recreation, Youth and Culture Services Division of the Corporate Services Department. Reporting directly to the Camp Coordinator, the camp Supervisor will play a key role in overseeing daily camp operations, supervising camp counselors, and providing support and guidance to ensure a safe and engaging experience for all campers.

**DUTIES**
- Plan, implement, and oversee designated camp activities to ensure a safe, engaging, and enjoyable experience for all campers.
- Demonstrate knowledge and instruct campers and peers in various activities, including arts and crafts, games, songs, environmental activities, and physical activities.
- Supervise and support camp counselors, providing guidance and assistance to maintain high standards of care and engagement.
- Foster positive interactions with all participants, parents, and team members by maintaining a courteous and professional attitude.
- Monitor daily camp operations to ensure adherence to safety protocols and program guidelines.
- Conduct regular evaluations of counselor performance and provide constructive feedback to promote professional development.
- Be the first to respond to emergency situations, providing support and coordinating with supervisors as needed.
- Maintain regular communication with parents and caregivers regarding camper progress and any relevant concerns.
- Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures, and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Previous experience working with children in a camp or recreational setting is preferred.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to foster a positive team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging with staff, campers and parents.
- Valid G driver’s license.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification from an accredited organization is required. Please see below for the dates the above qualifications are being offered. Applicants are required to obtain this training prior to their start date.
