As an** Outpost Technician**, you will prepare locomotive and coach equipment to dispatch into passenger rail service and provide technical expertise in troubleshooting and repairing electrical/mechanical problems. A role model for timekeeping, and a team player, who demonstrates organizational commitment and awareness. Must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions, as well as in a 24-hour, 7 days a week working environment and must work safely and follow all work procedures. **Technical skills/knowledge**
- Familiarity with both machanical and electrical power and control systems
- Capable of reading and understanding electrical drawings and maintenance manuals
- Capable of using computers and computer control systems
- Experience using DVM, Amp clamp-on meter, Meggar, oscilloscope, power tools and hand tools
- Perform scheduled inspections and unscheduled repairs, including component replacements on coaches / Locos.
- Complete interior and exterior inspections of the coach, including all subsystems and safety equipment.
- Equipment Fault finding with corresponding repairs.
- Record keeping
- Proficient in English reading, writing and speaking skills required.
- Traveling off-site to outpost locations for repairs, troubleshoot and repairing equipment.

**Qualifications**
- Certificate or License in related field
- Minimum of 1- year work experience in the Mechanical and Electrical maintenance field.
- Must possess a valid Class G Driver’s license.
